I forgot about this! XD Just a quick update showing of the apron I sewed for a (very pregnant) friend of mine's Christmas present.

I used the McCall's M5825 pattern, because it's the cute vintage looking ones. They wanted me to put rickrack at the bottom of the apron, and I said, "NO, it's ICKY," so I did some funky poppy flowers instead. Yup yup! Aprons are super easy; yay for easy!

I know, I know. It's been ages since I posted anything. I finished up the Worth Jacket project I was working on, and I'll try to throw together a post either later today or this week. We'll see.

Time for a list of still unfinished projects, and some *new ones:
~Kari's Xmas present
~A new Conbat, made of super soft fuzzy fabricy goodness*
~Messenger bag, because I'm sick of all my purses*
~Veser hoodie for Momocon/D*Con, whichever it gets done by.
~Another blouse is probably on the way, in BLUE this time. :D

Hm...yep. Lets see how much I can get done before I go back to class. I'm gonna be so broke!

I don't have time to do a full part 1 post for my Worth Jacket just yet, but I thought I'd slap up a teaser photo of the half of the front I got finished today.

SHINY, isn't it? Already started on the second half of the front and totally screwed it up by making the pocket half an inch higher, and I'm nearly positive I don't have enough fabric left to redo? Trying that is in consideration, though.

I also think that the pockets are a bit too high in general, but there's nothing I can do about it now. LE SIGH. Dear computer, stop making that weird noise.

Wait...hold on. That Snuggie ad just terrified me. I need a second to recover...

WHOA. Ok. So! Found a Burda pattern at Joann yesterday that is, like, PERFECT for my Doc Worth Coat project! I'm super excited about it, and I hope to get going on it this week, since my computer's in for repairs. The pattern is going to take way fewer modifications than the other one I had, so I think it's going to be much, much easier for me. GNEE!! I'll try to do some actual step by step pictures this time. :D

So I decided I'd go ahead and upload some shots of the Emily blouse I made and wore for a costume party. Wee! Femme!Conrad time:

The blouse was SO crazy to make! I actually had to stop and start it over again, because I made it too small the first time around. I sew that collar I don't know...3 times? Something stupid. Probably more like, 4. And don't even get me started on the "easing the sleeves" crap. It was a big headache, but a lot fun in the end. I actually kind of want to make another shirt, a vibrant blue, since I LOVE that color, and don't have any shirts that shade.

FINALLY got some photos of my Adelaide and "We All Float On OK" Hoodie! :D

Ta da!! The Adelaide hoodie's on the left, and "Float On" is on the right there.

All I did to make them was buy a black XL hoodie from the mens department in Walmart, and an XL lime green hoodie from Amazon. For the Adelaide hoodie, I used a dress I already had to determine where to bring in the sides. For the "Float On" one, I just took a few inches from each side. Then I merely switched the sleeves , adapting them to fit into the new arm holes. Used some scraps to sew on to the pocket openings of the Adelaide hoodie, and the string from the green hoodie went into its hood. "Float On" hoodie got a red orange shoelace ordered from Amazon. Wee!!

Sorry there aren't any in progress photos. I told you guys, I'm bad at this blogging thing. I get all into my project and forget to bring along a camera for photos. So, I apologize again.

I'll be posting images of my Emily blouse eventually. I want some more shots of it before I post.

Soo. Spent a large part of my day yesterday sewing up the Emily blouse, finding out how much of a bitch collars are, etc, only to find out that it's too small! WHO'DA THUNK?! I apparently just need to shut up, and do what the pattern tells me to do. So, I'll have to get more fabric and start over. Woooo...

In other news, I've got another project to add to the list, a seeecret Christmas present project.

So we've got now:

~Emily blouse (general wear and for Femme!Conrad costume for Halloween {If I get it done by then.})
~Doc Worth jacket (future cosplay and, let's face it, it's awesome)
~Secret Xmas project
~Veser hoodie (for Dragon*Con next year, but that likely won't get tacked until the summer)

Still have to get pictures of the Adelaide and "Float On" hoodies.

The Emily shirt's frustrating me a little bit. I'm going to go check out the pattern they have a Joann and see if the instructions are any different, because I SWEAR I'm missing something out of there. Freaking out a little bit, because this shirt's going to be part of my Halloween costume, and I need to get it done by the 30th. However, I've got two papers this weekend, and one next weekend.

In the meantime, check out a video of just how awesome Ludo is!
Ludo FTW!

Finished the Leg of Mutton top. I'm lazy and will post what I said on my DA:

The shirt was pretty simple to put together, and I actually had a lot of fun with the gathering and stuff. Over all, I'd recommend giving this one a try, but there's only one size to the pattern, and it's a little too small for me. If I'd realized it, I'd have made narrow part of the sleeves a little bit larger so they're not so skin tight like these are. I'd also make the shirt longer, because it is pretty short.

And yes, that's a necklace I made from my HINABN pins, because I wanted to wear them around, but was too paranoid I'd loose them all the time. Only ones missing are the AX ones (which are secured on my bookbag), Lee, and the shirt and tie pin, which is misplaced, at the moment. I know it's not lost lost but...stupid thing disappeared!

Photos taken by a couple of friends. :D

Up next is going to be the Emily top. Hopefully will be able to start work on it this week. Sorry there weren't more step by step photos for this one. I always forget to grab my camera when I go downstairs to get to work, and then I get really focused and don't even think about pausing for photos.

My grandmother just gave us her sewing machine (only 3 years old! :D), so now my sister and I are going to put one of them upstairs odds are, it'll help me remember to take more pics. Wee!

Also: finished both the Adelaide hoodie as well as the "Float On" hoodie, but I've yet to get photos taken. Sorry! I'll try to get some this week. :D

Some newly developed projects of mine are more immediate matters (and can only get done when I get my room straightened up...it's HORRIBLE in here!), because they're not cosplay related...well, one of them is. XD

First up will be me creating this awesome top from Burda Style; there's a large grey and black houndstooth that I've got in store for it. :D

Another top planned from Burda Style, because I'm tired of not having a red blouse and not being able to find any that I like in the store. Have yet to decide if I want to do the long, turned over cuffs or not. Any opinions?

And lastly on my list for some fall/winter styles is a coat that I can actually use for a cosplay, but may just wear it because it's AWESOME! I speak, of course, of Doc Worth's jacket from the February reward comic! A friend of mine's got a pattern I'm going to use as a base, but there's going to be a lot of modifications. They scare me, but I think I can manage! We chose a darkish khaki canvas for the coat, and I've got lots and lots of left fur still for the collar. Doc needs more fur clothes so I can get rid of this stuff. XD

Final pictures of the wallet for you all. :D

Photos to come of two hoodies I completed over the weekend as well. They'll probably be the last updates for a while, unless I get it in my head (or manage to have the time) to make another Conbat plushie.

I hope you like scrolling down!!
There are going to be so many photos in this...OMG! Sorry.

Struck out on finding some argyle fabric, but I DID find this plaid that I liked. Reminded me of this fanart of Conrad, so I went with it. I'm actually pretty in love with it right now, so I think it all worked out.

Ironed on some interfacing for this one as well.

Preparing the preparations for the Conbat, who's design was yoinked from the set of valentines Tessa made this year. I didn't particularly want to draw one up, so I enlarged the image on our photocopier, cut it out, traced the outline of the heart and Conbat onto their respective fabrics and cut them out. Then, I used the copy to rig up a stencil. Weee!

Pre-acrylic cut outs
Acrylic base colors applied.
Using the cut out as a stencil.

VOILA! Stenciled hands!

And touching them up a bit...
Almost done!
Finished!

D'aaaww!

What the stencil looked like when done.
TIME TO GET GOING!!

Again, I used the tutorial from Confessions of a Fabricaholic. This time, I started at the beginning and made the zipper pocket below:

The inside portion all sewn together:

Inside portion's been sewn to the outer and it's been flipped right sides out. I kinda got really focused and forgot to take some pics between this and the one before. Sorry.  This is getting ready for the final stitching (which was HORRIBLE), which attaches the snap. I gave up very quickly on trying to do a zipper close.

I'll have some better shots of the completed wallet, inside and out, tomorrow, likely. But for now, some closeups of Conbat...because he's ADORABLE. Glued him on with some SUPER DUPER glue, that's very smelly, so he's drying in the basement over night.

No argyle fabric yet, I'll be on the (hopefully successful)hunt for it tomorrow. Decided I'd not waste time, however and started on the interior.

Again, I'm following the brilliant tutorial over on Confessions of a Fabricaholic. She's much better at explaining what's going on. :)

All the cut out pieces:

Started at step 11
Decided to add some iron in interfacing here for extra support:

Finished credit card portion:

Decided I'd prefer a couple of ID pockets (for license or student ID), so I did some vinyl windows.

I've got a new project that I'm working on that's getting bumped to the top of the list: A wallet!

In light of recent events (*coughwalleststolencough*), I've decided that rather than purchasing a new wallet, I'd much rather make one. What the heck is wrong with me?!

I want a Conbat wallet, that's what.

I plan to use this tutorial as a model, but I may try to use a zipper closure all the way around instead of just the snap. My idea is to make the outside argyle, with an appliquéd Conbat on it...because I'm a dork.

Hoping to get going on the inside today, since I can't find a satisfactory argyle yet, and the inside is just gonna be red. I'll keep you posted on the progress!

YEAH. I've already done it!

A brief overview:

First step was marking where I was going to sew. I used another dress I had to get the approximate size I needed.

Then I sewed it up and tried it on...and it was WAY TOO SMALL. The outline worked well for the other dress, as it was a stretchy knit, but not at all for the T-shirt. Ripped out the stitching and moved both sides out about half an inch or more. Tried it on again and it was perfect.

TRIM IT DOOWN! This included the sides left over, and sleeves. It was an XL shirt to begin with, so the sleeves were waaay long. I cut it off just above the sleeve seam and it made for a nice capped sleeve.

I lengthened the dress with strips of other T-shirt fabric, as well as some leftovers I had tripping off the excess on the Hanna shirt.

FINISHED. I suck at explaining junk; plus I'm super tired and don't feel like revisiting it all that much.

I'll be getting some action shots of this dress as well, so stay tuned!

FINISHED! Mostly. I've got 2 coats on the back design that are going to dry while I'm at work tonight, and then I'll probably go over the whole coat and touch up some spots that seem thin. And then...Well I might just wear it to school tomorrow.

Had to go back to the craft store (OMG!) to get more paint today...ended up spending $27 dollars when I meant to spend $2. Yup. Art is bad for me.

Look it all that tape!

YEAH. Already!

The back is going to resemble this horrible doodle of mine:
